Sounds easy right? Yep.

And this isn’t going to solve all your problems but it will almost certainly help. At the time of writing this I’ve been doing this for about 5 weeks and yesterday was the first day I needed it.

The fact is, when I go to bed at the end of the day I need to feel I’ve achieved something. It doesn’t have to be much but I hate it when I get to the end of the day and feel like I haven’t done anything. Starting the day by making my bed means that before I’ve even gone downstairs I’ve achieved something. It puts my head in the right mindset for the day, I’m on a roll and wanting to achieve things all day. And if I don’t? I come back home to a nicely made bed, curtains drawn and my bedroom feels appealing; somewhere I want to relax after having a crappy day.

Try it when you wake up in the morning, make your bed and draw your curtains. Remind yourself that you’ve achieved something before you’ve left your bedroom and see how it affects your whole day!
